Namit Agarwal is a professional working on corporate sustainability. He is the Head of Programme (People & Social Impact) at the World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA). His work aims to influence the world’s most influential companies to respect the rights and entitlements of people across workplaces, supply chains and communities. At WBA, he focuses on topics such as human rights, decent work, gender equality, responsible AI and just transitions.
Namit brings experience in influencing public policy, companies and investors on issues of transparency, accountability, human rights and gender.
Prior to joining WBA, Namit worked with Oxfam India, CARE India and Samhita Social Ventures, focusing on advocacy, campaigning, programme design and communications. He strongly believes in evidence-based advocacy and multi-stakeholder dialogue.
Namit is a Board Member of the Business and Human Rights Centre and a member of the Steering Committee of the Taskforce on Inequality and Social-related Financial Disclosures (TISFD). He is also part of the core group on Business, Environment and Human Rights of India’s National Human Rights Commission and serves on the Advisory Committee of Fair Finance Asia.
